Marla has specialized in working with adults, older adults and their families for three decades, providing individual psychotherapy and facilitating support groups. She treats clients with a variety of struggles including life transitions, grief, loss, anxiety, depression and even the early stages of dementia.
Her approach is supportive, insight oriented and solution focused. She has a wide therapeutic lens and incorporates tools from a variety of cognitive and behavioral programs as she collaborates with clients to optimize their plan of care.
For the past 15 years Marla has also worked with kids and young adults who need extra support, especially those with neuro-developmental challenges. She has consulted in pediatric clinics, private therapeutic day schools and written and presented on various topics related to parenting and autism.
She is also passionate about focusing on the unique needs of special parents knowing first hand how challenging that role can be. Marla created a program called Mindfullness for the Special Parent in 2015 and utilizes it in her clinical work if her clients are interested.

She has consulted at private therapeutic day schools and pediatric clinics as well as written and presented on various topics related to parenting and autism. Her approach is developmentally sensitive and neuro affirming.
Marla's passion for helping parents also comes from her personal understanding of the challenges caring for fragile children and young adults. In 2016 she wrote a program called Mindfulness for the Special Parent and can use this in her parent sessions along with a variety of other therapeutic interventions.
